The Master's of Computer and Information Technology (MCIT) is a widely hailed program, specifically designed for students and professionals with minimal or no prior computing experience or formal training in computer science. Information technology is revolutionizing our fast-paced, high-tech global society…changing the way we live, work, and do business; creating new fields, new industries, new careers unheard of ten—even five—years ago.
This program gives you the expertise you need to understand and to succeed in today's highly innovative and competitive workplace. It benefits students and industry professionals who want to begin or advance a career in information technology or prepare for doctoral studies in computer science.
MCIT students typically have undergraduate degrees and backgrounds in fields other than computer science. There is a good mix of students who enter the program with no prior experience in IT or programming and those who have some prior preparation or are already working in the IT field. They take the MCIT degree program to prepare for rapid entry into the IT industry, or to improve and strengthen their working knowledge as an industry professional.
Our graduates emerge from the program as well-rounded and versatile individuals and find themselves in a prime position in the job market. MCIT alumni have outstanding placement records. Many students find internships in the summer between their first and second year of study; in many cases, these internships lead to full-time employment offers.
MCIT隶属工程与应用科学学院（School of Engineering & Applied Science），从富兰克林时代起，宾大就从未放弃过探寻新技术以造福人类的努力，工程学院正是这种精神的产物，并使之成为全美最好的工程学院之一。
