哥伦比亚大学是一所位于美国纽约曼哈顿的世界著名私立研究型大学，于1754年根据英国国王乔治二世颁布的《国王宪章》而成立，最初名为国王学院，1896年正式更名为哥伦比亚大学（1784-1896为哥伦比亚学院）并迁到目前所在的晨边高地(Morningside Heights)校园，属于常春藤盟校，是美国大学协会创始成员。是美国历史最悠久的五所大学之一。

The Master of Public Administration (MPA), which emphasizes a comparative approach to domestic politics and institutions, prepares students to address major national policy issues and manage organizations in the US and other countries around the world.


Students develop the qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, substantive knowledge of a policy concentration and professional skills to address real world challenges in policy and management.


课程设置
MPA的核心课程将全球国家政策制定方法、严谨的经济学以及定量分析、管理课程相结合在一起。学生可以从SIPA多样的分支方向中进行选择：国际安全政策，国际金融与经济政策，经济与政治发展，人权与人道主义政策，以及城市与社会政策。通过哥伦比亚大学的兼备学术严谨性与体验式学习的课程（包括领域内最多样化的capstone workshop），毕业生将具有高级的分析能力以及求职所需的专业知识和技能。 


The purpose of the core curriculum is to ensure that every student in the MPA program receives basic, broad-based, interdisciplinary training in public affairs. This includes graduate-level course work in economics, statistics, the politics of policymaking, and management. Students are required to take a two-semester course in economics, one course on politics (Politics of Policymaking), and one-semester courses in statistics, management, and financial management.
